Terms of service
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between TBDL ("we") and the organization that signs up for AlphaNet ("you"). By creating an organization or buying a license you accept them on its behalf, and confirm you may do so.
The service
AlphaNet connects your devices on a private network and lets your administrators manage their security, updates and backups. We provide the hosted service, and licenses to run AlphaNet on your own servers, as described on this site. We may improve or change features; we'll tell administrators in advance about changes that take something important away.
Your account
Your administrators are responsible for who they let into your organization, the devices they approve, the access rules they set, and keeping their sign-in methods secure. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
Acceptable use
Don't use AlphaNet to break the law, to attack, scan or get into systems you aren't allowed to, to send spam or malware, or to interfere with the service or other customers. We may suspend an organization that does, and will tell its administrators why unless the law prevents it.
Fees
Up to 3 devices are free. Beyond that you pay $5 per device per month for the devices in your organization, billed monthly in advance by card through Stripe, with the number of devices adjusted (and prorated) as it changes, after a 14-day free trial. Prices don't include taxes, which are added where required. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to administrators; the change applies from your next billing period. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it; new devices can't join while the subscription is unpaid, and devices already in your network keep working. Cancelling and refunds are covered by our refund policy.
Self-hosting licenses
A license lets you run AlphaNet on servers you control, for as long as its subscription is paid. Your servers report the number of devices they have once a day; that number is what you're billed for. Don't remove or work around the license checks. You're responsible for running, securing and backing up your own servers.
Wazuh, a free third-party tool
AlphaNet can install Wazuh, free and open-source security monitoring software, at no extra charge. Wazuh is made by Wazuh, Inc., not by us: it's provided "as is" under its own open-source license (GNU GPL version 2), and we give no warranty for it. Your administrators decide whether to turn it on, how to use it and what to do about what it reports, and TBDL isn't responsible for its use, the results it gives, or any loss that comes from them. Wazuh is a trademark of Wazuh, Inc.; AlphaNet isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Wazuh, Inc.
Your data
Your data stays yours. We use it only to provide the service, as our privacy policy describes. You can delete your organization at any time from the console; its devices, users, settings and backups are then deleted.
Availability
We work to keep the service available and secure, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Devices that are already connected keep working when our servers are briefly unreachable.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using AlphaNet and delete your organization at any time. We may end the service for an organization that seriously breaks these terms, or with at least 60 days' notice for any other reason, refunding any fees paid for the time after it ends.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, AlphaNet is provided "as is", and TBDL isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and tell administrators by email at least 30 days before important changes take effect.
